Wilderness Gateway State Trail
The Wilderness Gateway State Trail is a new western North Carolina project that multiple government and citizen organizations collaborate on to plan and build an extended network of wilderness trails from Chimney Rock State Park, through South Mountain State Park, and into Catawba County. This trail system will connect with many upcoming parks and trails in Catawba County. Catawba Valley Heritage Alliance is actively supporting this project as it moves forward, as it will provide many great outdoor recreational resources for Catawba County.
While there is yet to be a timeline for the completion of this project, we are keeping track of its progress and will provide updates accordingly.
